House of the Dragon 2022 Review - DownPit. The plot will focus on the "Dance of Dragons" - a civil war (129-131 from the Conquest of Aegon I), caused by a dynastic crisis between two branches of House Targaryen. The "dance" broke out after the death of Viserys I Targaryen, when Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, supported by the Black Party, and Prince Aegon Targaryen, supported by the Green Party, simultaneously declared their rights to the Iron Throne. The literary basis of the script will be the first volume of George Martin's Fire and Blood, a chronicle of the conquest of Westeros by the Targaryens and their rule.
